Apri 8, 2020 — The PASC20 Conference series, originally scheduled for June 29 through July 1, 2020, has been postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, officials announced on their website. PASC21 will be held on July 5-7, 2021, at the University of Geneva (Uni Mail), in Geneva, Switzerland.
The PASC Conference series is an international and interdisciplinary platform for the exchange of competences in scientific computing and computational science with a strong focus on methods, tools, algorithms, application challenges, and novel techniques and usage of high performance computing.
The Conference is co-sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the PASC structuring project and it is managed by the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS). The local host of PASC20 is the University of Geneva.
Regarding PASC21, officials stated, “We invite you to save the dates, and we look forward to welcoming you next year. We are pleased to announce that our plenary speakers have confirmed their availability for PASC21. Contributors whose submissions have been accepted for presentation at PASC20 will be given the opportunity to provide updated abstracts. Presenters and minisymposia organizers will be contacted separately to confirm their participation and the content of their presentations. Additionally, we foresee a call for new contributions in late 2020.
“The postponement of the conference was a difficult decision, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” officials continued. “We hope that you will be able to join us next year for an engaging in-person event. We would like to take this occasion to thank the Papers Program Committee and the Minisymposia and Posters Program Committee for shaping a strong program for PASC20, which will now form the backbone of the PASC21 Conference.”
Officials also thanked “the sponsors of PASC20 – the Faculty of Science of the University of Geneva, the University of Geneva, DALCO, PSI, NCCR-MARVEL, Microsoft and PRACE – for their generous support. We hope that you and your loved ones are safe and well, and we look forward to seeing you next year on the shores of Lac Léman.”
