BOULDER, Colo., March 8, 2019 — Registration is now underway for the Rocky Mountain Advanced Computing Consortium’s 9th Annual High Performance Computing Symposium, scheduled for May 21-23 on the campus of the University of Colorado, Boulder. Open to the general public, this year’s event features four main tracks: Software (User Facing); Machine Learning/Big Data; SysAdmin; and HPC.
Keynote Addresses will be delivered by two of the nation’s leading research scientists: Dr. Allen T. Newton, a biomedical engineer and MRI scientist at Vanderbilt University, and Dr. Jeffrey S. Vetter, Distinguished R&D Staff Member and founding group leader of the Future Technologies Group in the Computer Science and Mathematics Division of Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
This marks the first time the event will be held in May, an effort to make the Symposium more accessible to students to present research work that they have been doing during the academic year, said Becky Yeager, the RMACC’s Executive Director and Symposium coordinator. A poster competition will give students the opportunity to showcase their research, and winners will earn an all-expenses paid trip to either the PEARC19 conference in Chicago at the end of July or the Super Computing Conference – SC19 – in Denver in November.
Support from industry sponsors reduces registration fees for all students (both undergraduate and graduate) to just $35, while postdocs can register for $95. Scholarship support for student travel and registration also is available. General registration (which includes parking) is $175 for all sessions, materials and meals. A “tutorials only” option for the final day of the Symposium is available for $110.
To Register for the Symposium; view the complete event schedule; sign up for the student poster competition; or become an event sponsor (a limited number remain), visit the website: www.rmacc.org/hpcsymposium/.
