Oct. 22, 2018 — Since 1991 SCinet – the SC Conference’s dedicated high-capacity network – has played an integral role in the SC legacy.
In its first year, SCinet provided 245 megabits per second wide-area capacity in support of SC91 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Flash forward to today: SCinet will deliver an anticipated 4.12 terabits per second of wide-area capacity to the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas, Texas, for SC18.

SCinet has provided SC attendees and the HPC community with the advanced networking platform necessary to connect internationally, share the latest in HPC research, and facilitate science innovation at the SC Conference. The network is a one-of-a-kind, multi-vendor installment that will showcase at SC18 more than $52 million in cutting-edge hardware, software, and services contributed by industry partners.
