NEW ORLEANS, La., Nov. 18 — The UberCloud has been recognized in the annual HPCwire Readers’ and Editors’ Choice Awards, presented at the 2014 International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage and Analysis (SC14), in New Orleans, Louisiana. The list of winners were revealed at the HPCwire booth at the event, and on the HPCwire website www.HPCwire.com. The UberCloud was recognized with the two honors:
Readers’ and Editors’ Choice – Best Use of HPC in the Cloud: The UberCloud Project for helping bring HPC to the wider masses.
The coveted annual HPCwire Readers’ and Editors’ Choice Awards are determined through a nomination and voting process with the global HPCwire community, along with a selection process in which the editors of HPCwire make selections. The awards are an annual feature of the publication and constitute prestigious recognition from the HPC community. These awards are revealed each year to kick off the annual supercomputing conference, which showcases high performance computing, networking, storage, and data analysis.
“HPCwire readers are among the most informed in the HPC community and these awards are ultimately given to the organizations that are making the biggest impacts in advancing technology and humanity itself through high performance computing,” said Tom Tabor, CEO of Tabor Communications, publisher of HPCwire. “The HPCwire Readers’ and Editors’ Choice Awards send a strong message of support and appreciation from those in the global HPC community. We are proud to be able to recognize these efforts each your and our congratulations go out to all the winners.”
“We at the UberCloud Community and Marketplace are absolutely thrilled about receiving this prestigious award already for the second year in a row,” added Wolfgang Gentzsch, president of the UberCloud. “We are deeply grateful to the HPC community and to the HPCwire editors for having elected the UberCloud again for our initiative to bring HPC to the masses, through the cloud, enabled by our feature-rich UberCloud HPC containers packaging complete software/hardware solutions on demand, at your fingertips.”

About The UberCloud
The UberCloud started in 2012 with inviting engineers, scientists and their service providers to participate in real-life hands-on experiments to move and run end-user applications in the cloud. 155 of these experiments have been performed so far and the challenges carefully investigated and published in two UberCloud Compendiums. Based on this experience, the UberCloud online marketplace platform has been developed. Today, end-users and service providers have one common access point for technical computing in the cloud: the UberCloud information, community, experiment, and online marketplace to discover, try, and buy computing on demand. Visit the UberCloud at https://www.TheUberCloud.com.
