Vcinity, Inc. Expands Ultimate X Technology for Unleashing Access to Remote Data

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 26, 2019 — Vcinity Inc., a leading provider of data access on-demand solutions today announced its expanded global fabric extension technology that is a fundamental building block for the Ultimate X (ULT X) family of products. These products enable access to data assets across global – and even satellite distances – as if they were local and deliver unprecedented flexibility and scalability for customers.

Editors are no longer required to replicate content at multiple locations, avoiding redundant copies of the content, leading to dramatic storage efficiencies as well as improved control and security.”

The fabric extension technology supports InfiniBand and RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) in excess of 100Gbps and enables a seamless data fabric transparent to virtually any application. The technology is transforming business operations for data-intensive applications across the financial services, oil and gas, media and entertainment, life sciences and government markets.

Technology at a Glance:

Vcinity’s ULT X solution unifies hardware and software technology with industry standard Linux server clusters for ultra-fast data access or processing performance across any distance. The addition of RAD X-1010e and RAD X-1100 to the ULT X family brings complete scalability and flexibility over any Metro or Wide Area Network ranging from sub 1Gbps to 100Gbps. The RAD X hardware is complemented by Vcinity’s open software architecture, data management tools and standard interfaces/protocols for seamless integration into any enterprise environment.

  • The RAD X-1010e is a lower density variant in a compact, half size PCI-e (PCI Express gen 3) card with 2x 1/10GE WAN interfaces. The RAD X-1010e, along with the ULT X software, is available for partners worldwide for integration into their data-centric solutions or through purchase of the ULT X-1000e turnkey configuration.
  • The RAD X-1100 provides unmatched scalability of Vcinity’s global fabric extension capabilities with three pluggable interface modules of up to 120Gbps capacity each – supporting various interface configurations including EDR InfiniBand and up to 100G RoCE.– in a small 1 RU form factor. This enables ULT X deployments in high density and scalable environments such as data centers, large enterprises and HPC centers.
