BICESTER, England, Oct. 17, 2022 — Women in High Performance Computing (WHPC) is excited to return to Supercomputing, this year being held in Dallas, TX from November 13 – 18, 2022. This volunteer-led organization is proud to once again present their annual Supercomputing Workshop, now in its twelfth year, focusing on better promotion of women and underrepresented groups in HPC, as well as the importance of male allies.
Starting on November 13th at 9:00 AM, the workshop kicks-off with distinguished speaker and long-time WHPC supporter and member, Trish Damkroger of HPE. Following Trish’s opening remarks there is a complete roster of activities planned, including a host of invited speakers, panels, and WHPC’s popular early career talks. Included this year will be an interactive networking session, which will allow people to meet and exchange ideas on how the community can level up in a fun and relaxed environment. Attendees will need an SC workshop badge to attend.
Following the workshop on November 15th WHPC will celebrate Diversity Day at SC22. This celebration, which is an informal but exciting part of the events schedule, is an opportunity for members, friends and allies to show support for not only WHPC’s work but for the countless organizations who provide support and help develop inclusive practice and policies. WHPC is incredibly excited to have 11 supporting organizations, as well as the support of 2 media organizations, on the Exhibitor Floor promoting WHPC’s initiatives.
In advance of the event at the Exhibitor Gala on November 14th, supporters will start passing out limited edition WHPC shirts, pins, stickers and neck gaiters for individuals to take and wear. All SC badge holders are welcome to participate.
WHPC’s Diversity Day celebrations will conclude at the Networking Reception, which is taking place starting at 6PM on November 15th at Cafe Herrera on Lamar. This free but ticketed event will allow SC badge holding members, friends and allies a chance to unwind, say thank you to WHPC’s supporters, and meet up with friends and colleagues. All are welcome! Plenty of food and drink will be on offer. WHPC also will have limited edition bags to hand out. Ticket reservations will open on October 19th. Be sure to reserve tickets early to avoid disappointment.
