Preparing HPC users for success

The HPC community is striving to collaborate, explore breakthrough technologies, and educate users on the latest solutions in order to increase HPC adoption and expertise. The High Performance Consortium for Advanced Scientific and Technical (HP-CAST) users group—a worldwide HPC user group conference hosted by HPE—is designed to fuel HPC innovation. HP-CAST brings together HPE customers and partners to discuss essential development and support issues that are critical to HPC. The event is comprised of corporate briefings and presentations by HPE executives and technical staff as well as meetings regarding customer-related issues. These collaborations enable HPE to improve the capabilities of their HPC solutions for large-scale, scientific, and technical computing while preparing customers for success.

This year, HP-CAST 29 returns from November 10th–11th to Denver, CO. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about a variety of industry trends and breakthrough innovations:

  • Participation in U. S. Exascale Programs
  • High-end HPC system architectures and experiences
  • Consolidated HPE roadmap and product family updates
  • Innovative processors, coprocessors, GPUs, and related software tools
  • Interconnect technology trends and shared memory implementations
  • Big Data, object storage, and parallel file systems for HPC
  • Relationship of HPC, Big Data, HPDA, AI, and machine learning
  • System performance tools, workflow control and HPC Clouds
  • Advanced remote and cloud-based visualization

Registration and a welcome reception will be held at the Grand Hyatt Denver on November 9th from 6:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. UTC.

The event kicks off on November 10th at 8:00 a.m. with HP-CAST board and executive updates from HP-CAST President Rudolf Lohner, Frank Baetke and Bill Mannel (HPE), and Trish Damkroger (Intel). Day 1 includes customer keynote lectures, partner technology updates, HPE product updates and roadmaps, research collaborations, and HPE keynotes on advanced technology programs—“HPC Applications: Integrating Deductive and Inductive Intelligences” presented by Dr. Eng Lim Goh and “HPE’s Exascale Computing Updates: Gen-Z and HPE’s Contribution to the PathForward Program” presented by Mike Vildibill, Paolo Faraboschi, and Nic Dube. On Day 2, attendees can choose from a variety of break-out sessions on topics such as HPC software environments, HPC storage solutions, HPC clouds, and data analytics and machine learning.
