AOL’S MARC ANDREESSEN STEPS DOWN

Dulles, VA — America Online Inc. Friday said Netscape co-founder Marc Andreessen is stepping aside as chief technology officer of the world’s top Internet services company. The chief strategist of AOL ally Sun Microsystems Inc., William Raduchel, will take Andreessen’s place.

America Online said Andreessen will advise AOL on emerging technologies and new investments, splitting his time between working with start-ups and with AOL on technology issues and potential investments. AOL chairman and CEO Steve Case said Andreessen had “wanted to spend more time working with start-ups.”

OPEN MARKET SENIOR VP RESIGNS

Burlington, MA — Open Market, Inc., the market share leader in Internet commerce software, announced that Peter Woon, senior vice president of Engineering at Open Market has resigned in order to pursue an opportunity as the division president and Chief Operating Officer of Insurance Technology Services of America, Inc. (ITSA). ITSA is a 200 person subsidiary of Insurance Holdings of America, Inc. (IHA), focused on providing business-to-business and e-commerce platforms for the insurance industry.

OBJECT MANAGEMENT GROUP ELECTS BILL RUH TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

McLean, VA — At its most recent Technical Meeting, the Object Management Group (OMG) elected Bill Ruh, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Concept Five Technologies, to its Board of Directors. The Board is accountable for business affairs, holds final voting responsibilities for technology adoptions, and upholds the bylaws of the OMG.

VIEWPOINT DIGITAL APPOINTS NEW PRESIDENT

Orem, UT — Viewpoint Digital Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Computer Associates International Inc., announced that Michael Lundberg has been appointed president.

MAHER TO LEAD STRATEGIC TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS FOR MEMSCAP

Grenoble, France — Grenoble-based MEMSCAP S.A. announced it has selected MEMS computer-aided design expert Mary Ann Maher to lead its strategic technology operations. As executive vice president of technology, Maher will report to president and CEO Jean-Michel Karam, and will be responsible for overseeing all product development as MEMSCAP expands its portfolio of high-performance MEMS design tools and intellectual property.

Maher comes to MEMSCAP from Tanner Research where, as director of advanced products, she brought to market all of Tanner’s MEMS and multi-chip module design software and developed a design methodology for MEMS that combines system and device level procedures. Prior to her directorship she was software architect, specifying Tanner’s critical IC design tools. During her time at Tanner she was responsible for securing several multi-million dollar government awards for MEMS design tool development and parallel circuit simulation, serving as principal investigator on those programs. STORAGE COMPUTER CORP APPOINTS NEW WEST COAST SALES DIRECTOR
