April 19, 2023 — Registration is now open for the 2023 CMD-IT/ACM Richard Tapia Celebration of Diversity in Computing Conference. The in-person Conference will be held at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Dallas, September 13 – 15.
The Tapia Conference provides an opportunity for attendees to hear about current topics in tech, learn about effective strategies for success in professional careers from diverse perspectives, pursue career opportunities in tech, seek opportunities for graduate studies, and work together to increase diversity in computing.
Register for an opportunity to:
- Attend stimulating and informative panels and workshops covering technical topics, professional development and broadening participation in computing.
- Hear from our dynamic Tapia 2023 Plenary Speakers:
- Ken Kennedy Distinguished Lecturer – Dr. Armando Solar-Lezama, Professor, Associate Director and COO of MIT CSAIL — the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.
- Banquet Speaker – Tara Astigarraga, Distinguished Engineer and Master Inventor, IBM Systems Assurance.
- Participate in the Student Professional Development Workshop where undergraduate and masters students receive coaching and development from industry and government professionals on the job application and interview process.
- Gather with others with common interests at Birds of a Feather sessions.
- Attend the Tapia Career Fair to meet, network, and interview with representatives from industry, government, academia and nonprofits.

The Tapia Conference brings together undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, researchers, and professionals in computing from all backgrounds and ethnicities to:

- Connect with others with common backgrounds, ethnicities, disabilities, and gender to create communities that extend beyond the conference.
