This year, Lenovo is a Platinum Sponsor at ISC in Hamburg and will be in the building! From May 22-25, be sure to visit us in booth B213 at the Congress Center Hamburg (CCH). Our theme is Smarter is a sustainable tomorrow.
Sustainability is a driving force for Lenovo as we develop computing solutions for the 21st century that enable our customers to solve humanity’s greatest challenges. We are uniquely positioned to guide our customers along their own sustainability journeys because we have begun pursuing our own. In January, we announced our commitment to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, validated by Science Based Targets initiative. Ongoing strategies for reducing our emissions include reducing the environmental impact of our products, harnessing innovation to increase sustainability in our manufacturing, and decreasing emissions across our operations. Here are few examples:
Smarter product development
Lenovo uses post-consumer recycled content (PCC) and closed-loop PCC, that’s recycled plastic from end-of-life IT and electronics equipment, to advance recycled material innovation. These materials are used in the manufacturing of some Lenovo server and desktop products.
Smarter manufacturing processes
By employing a low temperature solder process in our PC manufacturing, we’ve reduced carbon emissions by 35%. Additionally, there is an estimated annual savings of 5,956 metric tons of CO2, which is equivalent to the consumption of 670,170 gallons of gasoline per year.
Smarter operations
Globally, Lenovo has implemented energy-saving initiatives in our facilities including low energy motion activated lighting, energy efficient HVAC systems, and we reduced our company operated vehicle fleet.
At ISC23, we look forward to sharing more with you about how we are minimizing our environmental impact and the solutions we offer to help reduce impacts from your organization. Visit booth B213 on the showroom floor to chat with an expert on Lenovo’s:
- Neptune™ cooling technology
- TruScale for HPC
- EveryScale OVX
- Asset Recovery Service
- CO2 Offset Service and more!
If you’ll be there, be sure to setup a one-on-one briefing with a Lenovo representative to learn more about our next gen technology. Also, don’t miss Lenovo’s, Scott Tease, Vice President, GM HPC and AI at the Vendor Showdown where he’ll cover sustainable high-performance computing.
